NearVision CK®

Tired of those reading glasses?

CK, Conductive Keratoplasty may be your answer. IEC now offers the only FDA-approved technology designed to improve near vision. NearVision CK uses low frequency radio waves to correct your vision.

If you are over 40, have had great vision most of your life, and have to depend on reading glasses for your near vision, you may be a candidate for CK.

How NearVision CK works

The NearVision CK procedure is minimally invasive and painless, usually performed in three to five minutes. A probe that is thinner than a strand of hair releases radiofrequency energy. With the controlled release of these radio waves your eye is reshaped – the radio waves steepen the cornea. This change allows the light that enters your eye to be focused directly on the correct part of your retina, improving near vision.

NearVision CK is for those who:

• are over age 40
• have had great vision their whole life
• wear reading glasses for fading near vision
• have not had a significant change in their distance vision for one year
• have no health issues affecting their eyes
• are not pregnant or nursing

How do I know if NearVision CK will work for me?

That’s why we offer a free consultation. Seeing is believing. Our doctor will evaluate your vision and prescription needs and will demonstrate what your vision will be like with CK. During your exam, we will confirm that you are a good candidate.

Frequently asked questions about NearVision CK...

Will both eyes be treated on the same day?

NearVision CK is usually performed on one eye. This corrects your near vision while allowing you to keep good binocular distance vision. If your prescription requires treatment in both eyes, they will be done on the same day, one right after the other.

How soon can I return to work?

Most patients are back to their normal routine the day after their procedure.

Is the NearVision CK procedure painful?

The NearVision CK procedure is considered painless. During the procedure, a speculum helps hold your eye open. Most patients experience a feeling of pressure. Afterwards, some patients have mild discomfort, some tearing, and many feel like there is something in the eye. Because NearVision CK is minimally invasive, the procedure has exhibited very minimal risk and almost no side effects.
